GYO 2.0: COLLEGE SUPPORT FOR ASPIRING TEACHERS

GYO 1.0 graduates and/or NYCDOE Certified Teaching Assistants are eligible for GYO 2.0, where we help aspiring teachers earn a degree from CUNY while taking on little to no debt.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Candidates must be a GYO 1.0 graduate, or a certified NYSED Level I Teacher Assistant.

  • Candidates must have their New York State Teacher Assistant Certification.

  • Candidates must agree to pursue a degree in early childhood education at a CUNY school.

  • Candidates will not be considered if they have a Bursar hold. Exception: Bursar hold repayment plans may be available for KCC employees in good standing.

GYO 2.0 Supports students through:

  • Access to a support system full of teaching assistants who are also pursuing their degrees

  • Individualized support from the GYO Team where we will refer you to vital resources to assist your transition and overall college experience

  • Tuition Assistance

  • Merit-based stipends awarded at the end of each semester

  • Babysitting and tutoring reimbursement
